AT-KABUL: At least 30 militants have been killed and 22 others wounded in multiple extensive military crackdowns conducted by the Afghan security forces across the country in the past 24 hours, security officials said Tuesda-y.
The Ministry of Defense in a statement said the Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Nangarhar, Laghman, Kunar, Kapisa, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Ghazni, Zabul, Farah, Faryab, Balkh and Helmand provinces, in which 30 insurgents killed and 22 others wounded.
Moreover, the Afghan security forces detained three suspects, handing them over to the judicial organs for further inquiry.
The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During operations, seven Taliban fighters killed, eight wounded and one arrested in Alishing district of Laghman—seven militants killed and a vehicle of the enemy destroyed in Marja, Garmsir and Nahr-e-Saraj districts of Helmand—six insurgents killed and 10 others injured in Muqor and Qarabagh district of Ghazni province.
Similarly, four rebels killed and two arrested in Aorgon district of Paktika—two insurgents killed in Shahjoi district of Zabul—two militants killed and three others wounded in Mulaian and Baghpul area, center of Farah—one Daesh extremist was killed another wounded in Manogai district of Kunar province.
Nine planed clearing operations, and 94 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conducted 116 aerial operations supporting Afghan National Army including 12 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
