AT-KABUL: The Afghan National Security Advisor (NSA), Hamdullah Mohib on Tuesday concluded his regional trip as last tour to Saudi Arabia, where authorities promised all-out supports to facilitate direct talks between Afghan government and the Taliban group.
“Concluded my regional trip with a trip to Saudi. Engaging our regional partners in a holistic spectrum of cooperation to accelerate the quest for the ultimate goal of lasting peace in Afghanistan which I believe is intimately linked to reinforcing long term regional stability,” the young advisor wrote in his twitter account.
During his meeting to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), he separately met with his KSA counterpart Mr Mussad Al Aiban, head of KSA intelligence Gen Khalid Al Humaidan, and Sec Gen of Islamic Military Coalition for Counterterrorism (IMCTC) Lieutenant Gen Abdulelah Al Saleh.
During these meetings, peace process led and owned by Afghans, joint efforts against terrorism, bilateral and multilateral cooperation were discussed.
Acknowledging the interrelationship btw peace, security in Afghanistan, regional security and stability, KSA is ready to support, and cooperate with the government of Afghanistan in its quest for peace and security.
“The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), and government of Afghanistan will chalk out plan, coordinate implementation mechanism to jointly combat terrorism. The coalition will support, and stand by Afghan at different levels in combating terrorism,” he tweeted.
