AT-KABUL: President Ashraf Ghani is getting prepared for July’s presidential elections, sources close to him said Tuesday.
The incumbent president has also chosen his teammates, according to the sources, who said that the posts of chief executive and prime minister are not included in his team.
Ghani’s spokesman had earlier said that his existing deputy, Sarwar Danesh would continue to company him as the second vice president.
However the source didn’t provide further details about the first vice president. Chief executive Abdullah Abdullah or foreign minister Salahddin Rabbani would reportedly run as first vice president in Ghani’s electoral team.
But Presidential Palace, chief executive and Hizb-e-Jamiat have not commented on the reports.
