KABUL: President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday dismissed his envoy for the Commonwealth of Nations Mohammad Shaker Kargar in an order, president’s office said.
“Based on the constitution’s article 64, the office of envoy for the Commonwealth of Nations is canceled by the dismissal of Mohammad Shaker Kargar, president’s envoy for the countries,” it said Tuesday in a statement.
President Ghani has fired several government officials from their posts since he registered for the presidential election slated for July. The measure had severe backlashes by political parties.
Kargar served as minister of energy and water during the interim administration after Taliban collapse.
