KABUL: A group of eight people have been detained in connection to the kidnapping and murder of a 10-year old child in Kabul, the spy agency said Wednesday.
According to a statement released by National Directorate of Security (NDS), the suspects were arrested during an operation of the NDS Special Forces, which was conducted in the vicinity of the 5th and 12th Kabul police district.
The statement furthered, the suspects had kidnapped and murdered a 10 years old boy, Wasimullah son of Toti Khan from the 5th police district.
The group led by Mohammad Yar son of Zafar Khan and his other criminal partners as RahatGul alias FarhadLaghmani son of Mohammada Gul, Sefatullah son of Shafiqullah, Rafiullah son of Syed Hussain, Ahmadullah son of Mohammad Qasim, and Syedhussain son of Zarawar Khan and they were arrested after their identities were ascertained by the intelligence operatives.
The detained criminals confessed to their involvement in the abduction and murder of the child, the statement added.
Meanwhile NDS said two other individuals who have been identified as Habibullah son of Rustam Khan and Ahmad Zia son of Mohammad Jan were also arrested from 5th police district in connection to the kidnapping of a money exchanger son from Shahzada Market.
The two kidnappers were demanding ransom in exchange for the release of Gul Ahmad son of Mohammad Karim, but he was released during operation conducted by intelligence operatives.
