KABUL: The Ministry ofTelecommunication and InformationTechnology says it has inaugurated the system of online passport process,the first ever move in Afghanistan that is expected to bring a great change in the old passport issuing system.
The system is called to facilitate passport issuing andhelp the citizens to easily apply forand receive their passports.
ShahzadgulAryoubi,Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology saidon Tuesday that applicants would not have to pass complicated process for receiving passports.
“This system makes facilities for citizens, as at one unit the whole process could be done, even your licenses and car documents would be arrived at yourhomes,” he said. “This is the first step we make for the passport process.We try to create the system in all provinces, after that in every embassy and consulate the process would be used and there would be only one unite and that would be a central system.”
The system is linked with internetweb and according to the ministry the system has a communication unit as well.
The system is used through online website of ww.passport.moi.gov.af,www.asan.gov.af.
The Assan Khedamat(Easy Service) department of the ministry says that the goal of the system is to facilitate the simple services in the government administration for the citizens.
The system has been completed in two years by the department.
Meanwhile, the ministry of interior affairs says that the system would prevent corruptionas criminals would be recognized and deprived of receiving the passport.
