KABUL: At least 25 militants have been killed and five others received injures in multiple extensive military crackdowns conducted by the Afghan security forces across the country within past 24 hours, security official said Sunday.
Ministry of Defense in a statement said the Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas Laghaman, Paktia, Paktika, Logar, Badghis, Ghor, Balkh, Baghlan, Kunduz and Helmand provinces that left 25 militants dead, while five others wounded.
Afghan forces during operation arrested 11 insurgents and handed them over to the judicial organs for further inquiry.
Afghan National Defense and Security Forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations, 12 insurgents killed and four motorbike of the enemy destroyed in Balamurghab district of Badghis—eight militants killed, eight arrested three mines, two mortars, 10 grenade bombs with some bullets destroyed in Chahardara district of Kunduz province.
Similarly, three rebels killed and five others wounded in Chaharsada district of Ghor—three militants killed and the same others arrested in Sayedabad district of Maidan Wardak Province.
Unfortunately, four army soldiers were also killed and 10 others received injures during these operations.
In past 24 hours, six planed clearing operations, and 23 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conducted 46 aerial operations supporting Afghan National Army including five strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
