KABUL: At least five civilians were killed in an operation conducted by the army’s Special Forces unit Saturday night in the Behsood district of eastern Nangarhar province, local residents said.
Residents in Behsood also said that security forces captured five civilians during the operation.
Provincial officials confirmed civilian causalities, saying that the operation was conducted to wipe out the Taliban from the area.
This comes as more than 13 civilians including women and children were killed by aerial operations in northern Kunduz province.
