KABUL: Afghan National Police (ANP) have arrested 13 armed robbers during operations in Balkh, Parwan and Farah provinces.
Three armed robbers had been detained during crackdown in Khulm district of Balkh province on Sunday, said Ministry of Interior in a statement on Monday.
Other four robbers, who had stolen jewelries from a shop after threatening store owner by weapons in Khulm district, were chased by police and were captured following gun battle.
One of the robbers was killed during gunfire between police and the robbers, the statement added. Stolen jewelry returned back to its owner.
On the other hand, police managed to arrest a group of seven armed robbers during an operation conducted in Shaikh Abad area center of Farah province last day.
A AK-47, one pistol, one vehicle and a motorbike belonged to the robbers also seized.
Similarly, in separate operations, three armed robbers arrested in connection to robbery of a vehicle and a motorbike from Bagram district.
The robbers were arrested in Bagram district of Parwan with the stolen vehicle and a pistol, concluded the statement.
