KABUL: The High Peace Council (HPC) says that its delegations have not been officially invited to the intra-Afghan meeting that possibly to be held on 15 or 16 April in Doha, the capital city of Qatar.
Habiba Sarabi, Deputy of High Peace Council said the meeting would be hosted in Qatar, where the peace body officials yet to be invited.
This is would be second intra-Afghan talks after Moscow meeting, where a large number of Afghan politicians and influential figures were attended the talks. The next round of such talks to be held in Doha with an aimed at paving ground for peace to be prevailed in the country.
Source at condition of anonymity said that Afghan politicians who participated Moscow talks would also attend the upcoming meeting in Qatar with sole aim to find a political settlement to the Afghan conflict.
However, according to the source, there is no clarity whether any delegation from Afghan government would participate in the talk.
However, Nasrullah Stanikzai, an instructor at Kabul University termed Qatar meeting an important step toward Afghan peace process.
“I hope a delegation form Afghan side also participate in the meeting and this would be great achievement where both parties would sit in one table and lesson to each other that could likely lead toward a political solution,” he said.
