The issues of extremism and terrorism are getting more complex for Pakistan as on one hand, the United States moves a fresh resolution on Jesh I Muhammad chief Maulana Masud Azhar in United Nations Security Council and on the other Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has shown disappointment over acts and action against terrorist groups especially transaction of money to these groups. The FATF directs Islamabad to submit a fresh report by April 15 and the group will review the compliance report in its meeting scheduled to be held at Colombo from May 13 to 17. And the schedule Colombo meeting will be quite crucial as it would scrutinize 15 conditions pertained to actions against the proscribed outfits on the terrorists financing front. Though Pakistan has contradicted involvement of JiM in Pulwama attacks, not only India but even US along with aides are showing constant disappointment over statements and clarifications being made by Islamabad. Pakistan also put on grey list by FATF and in series of conferences its high ups yet to make satisfy the body regarding its acts and action against the groups involved in terrorism and extremism in the region in particular and rest of the world in general. Time and again the US move against JiM foiled by one and other way. But now the situation seems out of control as the US having sufficient evidences of JiM’s activism, especially its alleged involvement in violent acts in India controlled Kashmir. On such grounds, Americans are making their best to declare JiM and its chief Masud Azhar as “global terrorist.” In the wake of US fresh resolution and FATF disappointment, responsibility rests with Pakistan leaders to realize its responsibilities at this crucial stage and shun supporting terrorist cells. Through one or the other ways, these hardliners are not only polluting Pakistan’s relations with rest of the world but these groups are always challenging writ of the law, disturbing discipline of state organs and harassing peace loving people, especially defenders of human rights. On the grounds of Pakistan based alleged involvement in violent acts in India controlled Kashmir, the Indian leaders are reluctant to talk with Pakistan. Since a long Pakistani authorities are begging to talk with India but no any other member or forum of global community is supporting its such prays. Now it seems last chances for Pakistan to deliver before rest of the world otherwise its “isolation” in the global community could be further complicated in near future.
