KABUL: The Afghan National Security Advisor (NSA) Hamdullah Mohibon Sunday met with Uzbekistan Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov in his office today. Both sides discussed bilateral relation, peace process, regional security, joint counter-terrorism efforts, economic development and infrastructure, a statement from Office of National Security Council said.
In his return, Minister Kamilov reaffirmed that Uzbekistan supports Afghan-led, intra-Afghan peace process and ready to host meetings on Afghan Peace.
NSA Mohib thanked Uzbekistan for supporting peace talks and recognized other areas of mutual cooperation between two countries. Moreover, a joint security commission was also established between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
In a separate meeting, Mohib also met his Uzbek counterpart NSA Viktor Mohmudov in his office. A Joint Security Commission was established between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. They also discussed various areas of mutual interests including cooperation on combating terrorism, narcotics and extremism.
