KABUL: Political parties called the calling of Loya Jirga as a move towards presidential election campaign.
The Loya Jirga (Grand Assembly) will be held on April 29th in Kabul.
The Jirga costs five million US$ in which 2,500 representatives of the people from across the country are to attend.
Fozia Koofi a former member of the parliament said that the five million US$ is a defect on the national budget.
“This jirga is not only going to be useless in the peace process, but this is a campaign and an abuse of the national budget,” she said.
Meanwhile, Dawood Kalakani a member of the preparation commission of Loya Jirga confirmed that the jirga would just give consultations the Afghan government regarding the peace process.
“About two or three thousand people would participate in the jirga from across the country, and also the Afghan migrants would be invited and the president would listen to their ideas,” he said.
