KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai strongly condemned disrespect of civilians by the Afghan and foreign soldiers in Helmand province.

Afghan and foreign forces in a joint operation, killed some civilians and took two women as hostages in the Babaji area of Nad Ali district.

Karzai said in a statement that there was contradict between all Afghan values, traditions and the inhumane acts. He asked the government to free the hostages as soon as possible and stop operations against Afghan homes and villages.
