KABUL: Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology (MoTIT) on Saturday warned blockage of Facebook within next six months, unless the rule and regulations to be applied.
Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology Shahzad Aryobi in a press briefing on Saturday spoke about impunity of social media, particularly Facebook.
He told newsmen in Kabul that they will send a letter through Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) to the central office of the of Facebook to legalize using Facebook in Afghanistan.
He also talked about limitation of fake accounts as well as users with nickname.
Meanwhile, Spokesman for MoTIT Tahir Zaland said the ministry will block those Facebook accounts that are not accepting government policies in the mentioned elements within six months.
“Respecting national integrity and cultural values are the issues, which MoTIT wants take it into account by banning Facebook fake counts.”
He said that all IDs and Users of Facebook should be registered in the country. “So far no rule and regulations had been followed or implemented by Facebook users.”
According to him, users are misusing Facebook in their approaches that needs to be controlled.
