KABUL: At least 16 Taliban fighters have been killed and seven others wounded in southern Ghazni province, official said Wednesday.
According to the Ministry of Defense these 16 insurgents were killed and seven others wounded in ground and air operations carried out in different districts of the province.
The ministry in a statement said a vehicle, a motorbike and some weapons were destroyed as well. ANDSF took timely and professional action against the Taliban insurgents, the statement added, saying the Afghan forces have not suffered casualty in the operation.
Also during Tuesday airstrikes in Ziwoj and Mangor districts of the province, including a team leader identified as Salaam, and his four associates were killed, the statement added.
