KABUL: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said he will ask the management of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital to establish cancer hospital in Afghanistan.
Addressing a rally in Orakzai, Imran said he visited the hospital today in Peshawar where he met two cancer patients from Mazar-e-Sharif being treated there.
‘I will ask the SKMH administration to see if it’s possible for them to build a hospital across the border so that the patients don’t have to travel this far,’ he was quoted as saying by Pakistani media.
‘I pray for peace and progress of the people of Afghanistan.’
This comes as Imran Khan in the past tried to interfere into internal affairs of Afghanistan, suggesting inter set up to facilitate peace talks with Taliban.
Soon after his remark Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned a senior official from Pakistani embassy in Kabul, terming it a clear intervention into internal affairs of the country.
Foreign Minister Spokesman Sebghat Ahmadi in that time said Pakistan Counselor summoned for clarification on the recent remarks by Imran Khan regarding establishment of a new government in the near future.
“The Government of Afghanistan expressed its grave objection on Pakistan’s government and deemed such remarks a flagrant interference in its intern affairs”,
