KABUL: Religious scholars say that the peace process was the victim of government’s political goals.
These clerics said on Friday in the eastern province of Nangarhar that also there were some certain circles that oppose peace process because of their personal interests.
They added that the circles in the government and among Taliban still emphasize on the continuing of war because they see their political privileges in the war.
They called on the war parties to hold intra-Afghan talks soon after a ceasefire was observed, because Afghans were tired of war.
The clerics said that war parties should meet people’s demands that is only peace and they should agree on a ceasefire.
They said that this is the people who pay for the war cost, and the government and Taliban are fighting for political privileges.
They opposed the peace talks postponement by the government.
They said that peace was a national process that should not be hunted by political and illegal privileges.
