KABUL: At least two police officers embraced martyrdom and three others received injures after their vehicle hit with a landmine in southern Helmand province, an official said Friday.
Provincial Governor Spokesman Umer Zwak said the incident occurred in limits of 9th Police District in Lashkargah, the provincial capital.
Probe has been launched over the nature of incident, and so far no one detained in connection, the spokesman said.
There is no immediate of claim by any terrorist groups, including the Taliban who are in large in the province and often carries attacks against Afghan security forces.
Landmines always being planted by the Taliban insurgents to target Afghan and Foreign forces, but unfortunately the most victims are civilians.
