KABUL: At least 29 militants have been killed and eight others received injuries in multiple extensive military crackdowns conducted by the Afghan security forces across the country in the past 24 hours, security official said Monday.
Ministry of Defense (MoD) in a statement said the Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan National Police (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal conducted joint operations against insurgents in different area of Ghazni, Kunduz, Kandahar, Helmand, Urzgan, Takhar, Badakhshan, Balkh, Sar-e-Pul, Kunar and Farah provinces, in which 29 militants killed and eight others wounded.
Afghan forces succeeded to arrest three insurgents and handed them over to relevant judicial organs for further inquiry.
Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During these operations, 12 Taliban rebels were killed, one vehicle and three motorbike of the enemy destroyed in Girai and Nani center of Ghazni—eight militants killed and three others wounded in Shahwali Kot district of Kandahar—eight rebels killed and five others wounded in Kunduz province.
Similarly, one militant killed in Nahr-e-Saraj district of Helmand and three insurgents killed and a vehicle of the enemy destroyed in Trinkot center of Urzgan province.
In past 24 hours, 11 planed clearing operations, and 77 Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conducted 128 aerial operations supporting Afghan National Army, including 12 strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
According to the statement, ANA discovered and confiscated weapons and ammunition in the operations as well.
