KABUL: Afghan security forces repelled a coordinated Taliban attack in Imam Sahib District of northern Kunduz province, and killed 10 fighters of the red unit of the militant group, official said on Wednesday.
Taliban insurgents massively attacked a checkpoint of national army forces from different directions in Arbab Khil area of Imam Sahib on Tuesday night, Spokesman for Ministry of Defense, Ruhullah Ahmadzai said, adding, the Taliban fighters faced with strict resistance of the army forces.
“Afghan army forces pushed back Taliban attack and killed 10 fighters of the red unit of the group.”
In addition to that, 14 other insurgents were wounded during counter-attack by the Afghan forces, the spokesman added.
One army forces embraced martyrdom and four other received injuries in the attack, he lamented.
However, he said that ministry of defense will assure the residents of Kunduz that their army forces would bravely defend the residents till last breath and won’t allow the militants to create fears in the province.
