KABUL: At least 55 militants have been killed and three others wounded in multiple extensive military crackdowns carried out by the Afghan security forces across the country in the past 24 hours, security officials said Saturday.
Ministry of Defense in a statement said the Afghan National Army (ANA) in collaboration with Afghan NationalPolice (ANP) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) personal conducted joint operations against insurgents in different areas of Kandahar, Nangarhar, Kunduz, Badghis, Paktia, Ghazni, Kapisa, Zabul, Helmand and Paktika provinces, in which 55 militants were killed and three others wounded.
Afghan security forces succeeded to arrest two suspects and handed them over to the related judicial organs for further inquiry.
Afghan National Defense and Security Forces shelled and bombed the enemies’ positions and sanctuaries by artilleries and air forces.
During operations in the past 24 hours, 23 Taliban fighters were killed, 15 others wounded and three motorbikes destroyed in Shah Walikutand Maruf districts of Kandahar – ten Daesh insurgents were killed in Achin district of Nangarhar – eight militants killed and seven others wounded in Taluka village of capital city of Kunduz –four insurgents killed and four others injured in BalaMurghab district of Badghis –three insurgents belong to Haqqani network were killed and in Ahmad Abad district Paktia – two rebels killed, three others wounded and two vehicles destroyed in in vicinities of the province capital of Ghazni and two insurgents were killed in Alasay district of Kapisa province.
Similarly, one insurgent was killed in Mizan district of Zabul, one militant was killed and two suspects were arrested in Garmsir district of Helmand, one insurgent was killed in WazaKhwah district of Paktika province.
In past 24 hours, 13 planed clearing operations, and Special Forces operations conducted in different provinces; also, Air Forces conductedaerial operations supporting Afghan National Army including19strikes on enemy’s sanctuaries.
