KABUL: A deadly car bombing plot has been foiled during an operation conducted by the Afghan security forces in Kabul on Sunday night, official said Monday.
Deputy Spokesman for Ministry of Defense, Fawad Aman said that security forces of 111 Quick Reaction Unit have discovered and neutralized a vehicle laden 140kg explosives in Bagh-e-Alam area of Qarabagh district.
Meanwhile, in a press statement Kabul Police has confirmed that Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have discovered a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device during patrolling in the district.
According to the statement, the Taliban planned to conduct a terrorist attack in Kabul, but its vehicle full of explosives had been seized that fortunately the attack being foiled.
Investigation has been lunched on the incident, and so far no one has been arrested in connection.
