KABUL: At least 12 Taliban fighters have been killed during operation conducted by the Afghan army forces in northern Kunduz province on Monday night, security officials said Tuesday.
The operation was carried out in Talawka area of Kunduz city, in which 10 Taliban militants were killed.
Five strongholds of the enemy destroyed and six motorbikes along with 25kg explosives torched in the area, ministry of defense said in a statement.
In a separate operation conducted by army forces in outskirt of Kunduz city, two Taliban fighters were killed and one another detained.
According to the statement, the enemy’s small weapons cache was also destroyed in the operation.
