KABUL: At least 10 civilians were killed and another six injured Friday when a passenger mini-bus struck a roadside bomb in Ghazni province, provincial officials confirmed.
The incident took place early morning in Dara-e-Qayaq of the Jaghatoo district.
“There are four women and one child among the dead,” said provincial spokesman, Mohammad Aref Norri, adding that all the victims were residents of the adjacent province of Daikondi.
He blamed Taliban militants for placing the bomb on the roadside to target security forces passing the area.
Noori added that three women were among the wounded and were transported to the nearby medical facilities.
Hassan Reza Yousufi, a member of provincial council, criticized the government for careless regarding security in the area, saying that “every week, an incident happens on the road to Qayaq.”
Police had earlier said of a clearance operation in the Dara-e-Qayaq and other parts of the Jaghatoo district.
