KABUL: Political analysts believe that donor countries and the international community are dissatisfied with Afghan government’s campaign against corruption.
The analysts say that the US ambassador’s accusing statements in the presence of the vice president, government officials and representatives from international organizations was an insult to the government.
The US ambassador to Kabul had earlier said that his country was not happy with what the government of Afghanistan does against corruption. He said that the donor states had lost trust to Afghan government because it didn’t properly use the sources.
The analysts call government’s programs to remove corruption just a symbolic act, saying that lots of big corruption cases remained unseen.
The US ambassador’s statement caused different reactions. Political experts say that the government’s failure to remove corruption discouraged donor countries to continue donating for reconstruction and development projects.
They said that if the government continue carelessness against corruption, international community would probably further decrease donation.
