KABUL: A gang of three robbers was killed during a joint crackdown carried out by intelligence and police forces in eastern Logar province on Monday late night, official said Tuesday.
These robbers were involved in looting and plundering of precious goods and money of passengers in Logar-Kabul highway, Logar Police Spokesman, Shahpoor Ahmadzai said.
According to him, these robbers were shot dead when they came out on the streets to loot pedestrians and passengers in Mohammad Agha district of the province.
“Around 12:00 on Monday night, police officers and operatives from the National Directorate of Security in a joint clampdown reached the area, in which the robbers resisted there arrest and eventually killed in exchanged fires.” Security forces received no casualty, he said.
He said that security forces will make all-out efforts to bolster up security for the Logar residents. “People’s cooperation in this regards is much needed”, he added.
