KABUL: Local officials in western Herat province said Saturday that Taliban rebels have killed at least seven civilians and wounded 17 others.
Provincial Governor’s Spokesman Jilani Farhad said the militants staged the attack on late Friday in Khwaja Noor village of Kashk-e-Robat districts of the province.
He said that women and children were among the casualties, adding the wounded had shifted to the nearby clinic. Investigation has been launched in the attack.
Meanwhile, some local residents said that the attack was conducted by the Taliban fighters, in which a number of governmental employees, including a teacher had died. The Taliban group has officially did not comment over the incident.
The longest conflict in Afghanistan has thus far claimed the life of thousands of civilians. The war has left behind thousands of others with several types of disabilities such as, no legs, no hands, no eyes and hearing problems and as even mental disorders.
