KABUL: The Afghan security forces have killed at least 12 Taliban fighters in western Badghis province, an official said on Monday. In addition to that, 18 more Taliban fighters were wounded.
Number of armed Taliban insurgents had blocked the highway of Qadis-Qala-e-Naw for an attack on Afghan forces that faced backfire in which seven Taliban militants were killed and 11 others wounded in counter-attack by the Afghan forces, Fawan Aman, Defense Ministry Spokesman said.
Five other Taliban rebels were killed and seven others injured as a result of own Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) blast that went off prematurely in the province, he added.
