KABUL: Local officials in eastern Kunar said that six people have died and three others wounded after a roof collapsed due to heavy rain in one of the displaced families camp in the province.
Abdul Ghani Mumim, a provincial governor’s spokesman said the incident took place in Khas Kunar district of the province. The wounded are in a good health condition, he said. The casualties include women and children, he added.
According to the ministry of state in natural disaster management, at least 47 people have died and 25 received injuries in the floods flashed in several parts of Afghanistan in one past month.
Spokesman for the ministry, Ahmad Tamim Azimi said that around 5,000 families have been affected by floods.
Many parts of the country would be facing fatal floods in the coming weeks, as the rainfall would be in highly level in the ongoing year. Around seven million people would be at the edge of a risky condition, according to the ministry.
