KABUL: The Independent Human Rights Commission accused the government of hiding the results of attack investigations.
The commission said Friday that a fact finding delegation investigates every attack, but the results are kept undisclosed.
“No report has yet been shared with people by the fact finding teams. We call on them to share the results of each of their investigations with the people,” Shokrollah Mashkoor, the commission’s spokesman said.
The Doctors without Borders had earlier said that they did not know who attacked a maternity hospital in Kabul’s Dasht-e-Barchi neighborhood and why?
The hospital was funded by the Doctors without Borders. The Daesh terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack in which around 20 people mostly newborn babies and pregnant women were killed.
The Doctors without Borders asked for clear explanation by the government on the attack.
“The attack happened three weeks ago, but we still don’t know who targeted our patients and staff and why? We don’t know who was really behind the attack either. Thus, we ask the officials to launch a clear investigation,” it said in a statement.
The Doctors without Borders stopped activities in the Dasht-e-Barchi hospital after the attack, and say they wouldn’t resume works until their questions are not met.
Ministry of Interior is not ready to share details of the attack on the hospital with the people, with its spokesman Tareq Aryan, saying that what they said previously was OK.
“The government has shared the details of any attack carried out by any terrorist group. Each terrorist incident is officially investigated and its results are timely shared with the public,” said Dawa Khan Minapal, President Ghani’s spokesman.
