KABUL: The Afghan security forces have killed at least 31 Taliban fighters in different provinces across the country in the past 24 hours, ministries of defense and interior said on Sunday.
The Taliban received casualties after the Afghan security forces repelled their attacks, in which 16 other Taliban fighters were wounded during this period.
The Taliban militants coordinately attacked security check posts in Zabul, Ghor and Logar provinces that faced timely response by the Afghan security forces and 25 insurgents were killed and 10 others wounded, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a statement.
On the other hand, Ministry of Defense (MoD) Deputy Spokesman Fawad Aman said that Taliban massively attack on outpost in Nadali, Sangeen and Washir districts of Helmand province was fended off by the Afghan forces.
According to him, four Taliban rebels were killed and three others wounded.
Separately, scores of armed Taliban fighters attacked check points in Taymorak Bala of Chahar Bolak district that once again faced with the iron hand of the Afghan security forces.
He said that two militants were killed and three others wounded in retaliation attack by the Afghan forces.
