KABUL: The number of positive coronavirus cases in Afghanistan has fallen in recent weeks in the lowest level, but the deaths have remained high.
28 patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours, the Afghan health ministry said on Monday.
154 fresh cases of covid-19 were recorded during this period, a significant decline in the cases. The total tally has reached to 34,605 across the country.
883 suspected patients were within 24 hours in which 154 came positive.
78 positive cases were registered in Kabul, 26 in Daykundi, 11 in Bamyan, 11 in Badakhshan, eight in Takhar, four in Paktia, four in Kandhar, three in Baghlan, three in Parwan, two in Kapisa and one case each in Zabul, Helmand, Panjshir and Nimroz provinces, the ministry said.
64 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours that the total recoveries have exceeded 21,280 and the deaths to 1,038.
