KABUL: Former President, Hamid Karzai urged on the intra-Afghanistan, saying the peace talks would help to fulfill the hopes of the “martyrs”.
Karzai issued a message on the occasion of the Martyr’s Week.
He said in the messaged that marking the martyr’s week and the death anniversary of Ahmad Shah Massoud is an opportunity to commemorate the martyrs’ struggles in defending the independence, territorial integrity and national sovereignty against the invaders.
Karzai called Massoud as an honest Afghan who served for protecting the country’s dignity.
He said that Massoud’s struggle was an inspiration for freedom and independence seeking.
“Let’s work hard for bringing a nationwide and lasting peace to our country and rebuild our home with holding the intra-Afghan dialogues and not to lose our dear ones anymore and also to fulfill the hopes of our martyrs,” the message said.
Ahmad Shah Massoud, a jihadi commander was killed in a suicide attack on September 9th, 2001 in Takhar province.
