AT Monitoring Desk-KABUL: As many as six rebels were killed when an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) which is commonly known as drone targeted their vehicle in eastern Nangarhar province.
Spokesman for Nangarhar police headquarters, Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal, said that the attack took place the late Tuesday afternoon.
Khama Press quoted the spokesman as saying that the drone targeted a corolla vehicle of the militants in Mohmand village of Achin district where six rebels were killed and their ammunition was destroyed.
The source said that Mullah Tor, Taliban’s so-called district chief, his assistant Rahmanullah, and four other militants including Hasti Gul, Qader Gul, Nasrat and Amrullah were among the dead.
Achin is one of comparatively restive districts in Nangarhar which lies along the Durand Line.
At least 72 terror suspects were held in separate raids different parts of Achin few days back.
