KABUL: An Afghan cricketer, Najeeb Tarakai has received severe injuries in a car crash in eastern Nangarhar province.
Taraki who is a member of the National Cricket Team had gone through emergency surgery at a hospital in Nangarhar, but according to the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), Tarakai’s health is not well.
The ACB said that it would make all-out efforts to provide him facilitation of recovery. If Tarakai did not recover from the critical health condition, the ACB would take him to Kabul or overseas.
A medical team composed of specialists arrived in Jalalabad, the provincial capital city, to check on Tarakai’s health condition.
Afghanistan Cricket Team’s Captain, Asghar Afghan and former national cricket player, Karim Khan Sadiq, and some other teammates visited Tarakai at hospital on Saturday.
Tarakai has played several matches for Afghanistan national team. He was usually playing as opener in T20 cricket formats. Tarakai played many games in Afghanistan premier league of “Shapageeza T20” which is annually held in Afghanistan.
