AT-KABUL: The ex-President Hamid Karzai urged Russia to support the peace process of Afghanistan.
Russia’s envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan, Zamir Kabulov in a meeting with Hamid Karzai on Wednesday said that his country was committed to lend its continued support to Afghanistan.
Russian ambassador to Afghanistan, Alexander Mantytskiy, were also present on the occasion.
Hamid Karzai called for Russia’s continued support in economic, educational and cultural areas.
Karzai urged Russia to support Afghanistan’s peace process. He sought joint efforts from Kabul and Moscow in fight against common threats in the region.
Kabulov extended an invitation to Hamid Karzai on behalf of a private institution in Russia to deliver a speech this summer.
