KABUL: Off 474 samples, 59 patients tested positive for covid-19 during the last 24 hours, health officials said on Sunday.

The ministry of public health put the number of deaths to four and the recoveries to 53 within this period of time.

These cases were registered in Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, Balkh, Takhar, Baghlan, Parwan, Farah and Zabul provinces. Based on the health ministry’s statistics, the total number of cases surpasses 40,200. So far, 1,492 patients lost their lives to the virus. The ministry also said that wearing masks would be compulsory in the government administration and crowded areas.
