KABUL: Education officials on Saturday inaugurated a new school building in Patan district of southeastern Paktia province, the Education Ministry has said.
The school was built as part of the government’s plan to improve public education. The building has been built for a secondary girls’ school and has 10 classrooms and 2 administrative rooms.
The new building was constructed at a cost of 26 million Afghanis funded by the Education Ministry’s development budget and is also equipped with desks, chairs and potable water well.
“It will provide safe educational environment for hundreds of girls in the area,” said a statement.
In Afghanistan, nearly half of the schools don’t have or have improper buildings.
