KABUL: Parliament Speaker, Mir Rahman Rahmani called for an investigation to a report over the misuse of money by President Ashraf Ghani’s aides.
The Etilaat Roz daily newspaper had earlier reported that Ghani’s aides receive millions of Afs from the code 91 as extra money to different ways and apart from their payments.
Rahmani urged that the findings of investigation be shared with the general session of the parliament after the assessment.
Lawmaker Mir Afghan Safi said they would investigate the allegation and would inform people about the results.
A number of the parliament members asked a new commission be formed in the parliament to investigate the code 91. The request was rejected by other legislators.
Lawmaker Nahid Farid said that the parliament should shape a special commission for the assessment of such kind of issues.
She said the budget spent by code 91 was four times more than the budget passed by the parliament,
Kamal Nasir Usuli, another member of parliament said that the lawmaker were authorized to create special commission for all the activities of the government, but cannot create a commission for the investigation of code 91.
