KABUL: The Spinzar Factory in northern Kunduz province has been reactivated and began processing of cooking oil again after 25 years, said the ministry of commerce and industry on Tuesday.
The factory is able to process 10 tons of cooking oil in a single day, according to the ministry’s statement.
The factory had resumed operations at the cost of $12,000, which can produce flaxseeds, sesame, cotton and soap.
With the start of the factory, the Kunduz residents would benefit from it, and also supply its products to neighboring and nearby provinces.
Earlier, the Ministry of Finance announced that five vegetable oil production plants would be purchased from Uzbekistan for Spinzar factory to resume its operations.
The Spinzar Factory named Northern Company was established in 1314 Persian Year; the main products were oil and soap but remained inactive during the civil war.
