KABUL: The government has started land distribution for the displaced families who are forced to leave their residence as a result of intensified fighting between the Afghan security forces and the Taliban rebels in their hostilities across the country.
Minister Noor Rahman Akhlaqi in a visit to the western Heart province said that a joint delegation was appointed to distribute lands to the people who have been displaced.
“The delegation would find out about the victims of the security forces, displaced people and repatriates,” he added.
He said that the government made particular conditions for the distribution of the land.
More than 70,000 people have been displaced due to insecurity and severe clashes between the Afghan security forces and Taliban fighters in the ongoing year across the country.
In October 2020, thousands of families were forced to leave their residences after a severe conflicted that also lasted for more than a week erupted between the security forces and Taliban in Arghandab and Zeri districts of southern Kandahar province. According to some reports, many of the displaced families were living in Kandahar, Helmand and Faryab provinces.
