KABUL: The Taliban fighters have set fire to six fuel tanker trucks and taken seven people with them in the northern Baghlan province, a security source said on Friday.
The source, who was talking on condition of anonymity, said that the incident occurred on the Kabul-Baghlan highway in Dushi district of the province.
The militants unleashed attacks on the security checkpoints in the Kilagai area of the district.
“The militants were defeated, but set the oil tankers on fire and took seven drivers with them” the source said, adding two of them were found but three are still missing.
Earlier the insurgents had dragged four passengers out of their vehicles on the highway.
However, the security officials say that the security forces arrived at the scene and the militants escaped the area.
The Taliban group has not commented on the incident so far.
