KABUL: Officials in the northeastern province of Badakhshan said that the electronic equipment for Shorabak power dam arrived in the province.
Sayed Ahmad Nasiri, a provincial official said that the technical team was working to activate generators and that the power would be supply within next two months.

Sultan Atayee, head of the Badakhshan Energy Company said that they provided electricity to 1,800 families in provincial capital city of Faizabad. He said that the establishment of the dam would provide power for 19,000 families in the province.
“We have fully preparation. The only problem remained unsolved is tariff,” he said. “The ministry of energy and power will determine a tariff in consultation with the people.”
The resident called on the government to put a low tariff for power supplement as many they are incapable of paying expensive tariffs.
A shopkeeper, Sami said that one kilo volt power cost 28 AFs. “We hope the dam will be active soon; we waited for it for a longtime.”
Shorabak dam will provide 7.5 megawatts of power. It was built on the provincial river of Kokcha with the cost of 51 million dollars. The dam was financial supported by Germany. The construction was contracted with a Turkish company and finished by the end of 2020.
