KABUL: A number of civil society activists in a gathering in Kabul city, expressed support for the parliament speaker who had earlier called of the formation of an interim administration.
The activists claimed that there were some figures in the government who secretly undermine the peace efforts for their personnel interests.
“We announce our support to the interim government with the preservation of current system,” said, Karimullah Khawari, a civil society activist. “It is not important for us who to lead the interim government, Ghani another one.”
“I support our parliament as a woman and we all women support our parliament,” said Zarmina Maroofi, another civil rights activist.
A member of the high council for national reconciliation, Nisaruddin said that the peace process was monopolized by some particular people in the Ghani administration for their personnel interest. He called on the chairman of the council, Abdullah Abdullah to take the responsibility of the peace affairs and eliminate the hurdles on the path of the peace process.
“You (Abdullah) have strongly backed the peace and now take the responsibility of the peace affairs and do not let anyone to interfere in the peace process. It is your job,” he said.
