KABUL: A service member of the intelligence agency was killed and five of his colleagues wounded when a roadside bomb hit their vehicle Monday in Parwan province, north of Kabul, provincial officials said.
Abdul Wasi Rahimi, head of provincial intelligence department told newsmen that the target of the blast was a vehicle of the department.
He said the explosion happened while the service members were on their way to an operation in Koh-e-Safi district.
Head of Provincial Health Department Abdul Qasim Sangin confirmed that one dead body and five wounded people were shifted to hospital.
Mr. Sangin said the wounded people are under medical treatment and their health condition is stable.
This is the second blast occurred in the province in a week. A few days back, provincial intelligence chief escaped unharmed when his vehicle hit a roadside bomb in Charikar city.
Separately, two magnetic bombs went off in the Police District 5 and Police District 1 of Kabul city on Monday, said Kabul police spokesman Ferdaus Faramarz, adding that no casualties were reported in the attacks.
No one immediately claimed responsibility of the blast, but Taliban are blamed for carrying out these attacks.
