KABUL: At least 80 Taliban insurgents have been killed and 36 others were wounded during crackdowns carried out by the Afghan security forces in different provinces in the past 24 hours, defense ministry said on Monday.
Afghan security forces supported by the Afghan Air Forces conducted operations in Kandahar, Helmand, Nangarhar, Badghis, Ghor, Takhar and Baghlan provinces, in which 80 Taliban fighters were killed and 36 others were wounded, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
123 mines placed by the Taliban on the roadside discovered and defused by the Afghan forces in the mentioned provinces, the statement added.
The Afghan security forces by discovering and defusing mines succeeded to prevent many bloody incidents.
