KABUL: Afghanistan has recorded 22 new infections of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours around the country, the Ministry of Public Health said Tuesday.
The total tally since the outbreak of the epidemic has reached to 55,540 cases across the country.
According to the ministry, the new cases reported out of 1,472 suspected samples tested in the past 24 hours.
Another 81 patients have fully recovered during the same period of time.
The total recoveries exceeded to 48,514 and the deaths to 2,428 in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic started around one year ago.
The number of deaths from COVID-19 globally is more than 2,409,381 and the number of known global coronavirus cases is 109,190,723, according to Johns Hopkins University.
