KABUL: A roadside bomb targeting a military convoy killed seven police personnel in northern Faryab province, local officials said Tuesday. The blast was followed with a clash erupted between the security forces and Taliban.
Provincial Police Spokesman, Kareem Yurish said that the incident occurred on Monday evening in Almar district of the province. “A Hamve hit a roadside mine planted by the Taliban, seven security forces were killed and the Hamve was also destroyed,” he said, adding that more than ten Taliban were killed in the clash.
The Taliban didn’t say anything in regards.
The government and Taliban have escalated hostilities amid the fragile peace negotiations between the two sides that are presently stalled.
