KABUL: At least 51 Taliban rebels have been killed and 14 others were wounded during latest raids carried out by the Afghan security forces in different provinces across Afghanistan in the past 24 hours, defense officials said on Monday.
The Afghan security forces supported by the Afghan Air Forces conducted operations against Taliban in Arghandab, Panjwae and Zherai districts of southern Kandahar province, in which 34 Taliban insurgents were killed and seven others were wounded, said the Ministry of Defense in a statement.
Some weapons were also destroyed during the operation.
At least 11 Taliban insurgents were killed and seven others were wounded in another operation carried out by Afghan security forces in Zawol district of western Herat province.
Additionally, 11 IEDs which were placed by Taliban on public roads were discovered and safely detonated.
Also six Taliban rebels were killed in the Alozai area of eastern Logar province.
These militants were killed during an operation conducted by Afghan Commando Forces in the province on Sunday night, the statement added.
Some amount of the enemy weapons and ammunition were also seized.
